How to protect your loved ones: Voluntary alcohol monitoring

POSTED ON: 02/27/2020

Ignition interlock devices, or vehicle breathalyzers, have great potential in the fight against drinking and driving. Many people who use our products have been ordered to do so by a court, probation officer, or a specific program they’re in. But some people voluntarily install our life-saving products to protect themselves or their loved ones by preventing drunk driving accidents and monitoring alcoholism.

Who we help

In addition to drivers who have been charged with DUI or DWI and individuals who are required to install IIDs because of a program they’re in, we can also help in other situations such as:
- monitoring teen drivers
- providing support and accountability for a family member or friend struggling with alcohol addiction
- keeping an eye on a parent’s behavior as part of a child custody case
- allowing health professionals to check up on addiction and rehabilitation patients
- making sure employees who drive company vehicles are sober on the job
- helping you quickly and conveniently monitor your own drinking

How we help

In addition to vehicle monitoring devices, we also offer mobile devices. The S.M.A.R.T. (Sobriety Monitoring and Reporting Technology) mobile device is a battery-operated portable device that measures the alcohol content in the user’s breath. We can help to prevent drinking and driving, and we can help monitor someone with an alcohol addiction to track progress and setbacks.

Why we help

Some people can drink alcohol responsibly and without becoming addicted. But some people need help with alcoholism or other alcohol-related concerns. According to MADD, ignition interlock devices have stopped a driver who is drunk from starting his or her vehicle over 3 million times since 2006. As their use has grown nationwide, breathalyzers have cut down on the number of alcohol-related traffic fatalities. One big reason we do what we do is to make the roads safer for our families and yours.

If you need help

Though most people seek our interlock products following a DUI or DWI as a requirement from the court or other authority, our devices can be installed and used voluntarily as a way to prevent drunk driving and to help with addiction. Contact us or call us at 1-866-447-8686 to find out how we can help you or your loved ones.
